Peter Arensman
Founding Partner
Being an entrepreneur his whole life, Peter has experienced that world changing innovations almost always start entrepreneurial level. Cashflow is often a challenge, which was the reason he founded the Future Food Funds.
He is passionate about people, planet and profit: built a sustainable business model, but always think of the consequences of your business on people and planet.
Kim Wagenaar
Investment Director
Kim believes that changing the way we produce food will play an important role in preserving resources for the future. A motivation to make the world a better place has been the the driving force behind her PhD research on microfinance and jobs in impact VCs focused on renewable energy and sustainable food.
In addition to her experience working with start-ups, she also brings a strategy consulting skillset to the table. Kim spent part of her childhood living on a farm, kept 30 sheep as her pets, and occasionally skipped school to deliver lambs! When not working, Kim enjoys yoga and dancing, and going on little adventures in nature with her kids..
Jaap Strengers
Managing Partner
Jaap believes the transition towards more sustainable food & agriculture systems will be achieved to a large extend through scaling up of innovations. He is therefore excited to support some of the most promising early-stage companies that are part of this change. For this, he aims to use his broad experience working across consulting, start-ups, foundations and corporates.
Outside of work he enjoys outdoor activities such as kitesurfing, running or hiking, at least when not supporting his two young daughters in their growth journey!
Silla Scheepens
Partner
The coming years, major transformation must and will happen in the food & agri sector.
By investing in mission driven startups, Silla believes that the momentum will be accelerated and that change will come, preferably sooner than later.
With her B2C marketing/strategy background, she is able to contribute to the growth of the startups.
After work hours Silla can be found taking care of the plants and flowers she organised for her entire neighbourhood, on the schoolyard with her three children or playing (pretty mediocre) tennis and padel.
Jeroen Kimmels
Founding & Managing Partner
According to Jeroen, a liveable planet can become reality if we change the way we farm and eat. Yet these are also the biggest challenges. That’s why he respects and loves working with entrepreneurs who take up the gauntlet and make innovations in food&agri the core of their startups.
Jeroen is a grandson of farmers, grew up amidst the greenhouses, and spent a large part of his career at food&agri focused Rabobank. He is also an avid home chef.
Miguel Knudsen Salazar
Investment Manager
Miguel grew up in Colombia in a family of entrepreneurs, shaping his passion for building and supporting ventures from an early age. His career spans investment roles and the launch of his own startup, giving him an empathetic and founder-focused approach to early-stage investing.
At Future Food Fund, he brings this blend of operational and financial insight to help teams scale with purpose. Beyond the office, you’ll likely find him exploring the ocean as an avid diver, staying active through sports, or dancing salsa — a grounding reminder of his Latin roots.
